Turaco is native to South Africa. The Red Crested Turaco is the National bird of Angola. I tried to paint one with color pencils. Comments are welcome.

The cook from Palakkad

This is my digital rendition of a cook from Palakkad, Kerala. His name is Mani Iyer. He is an orthodox brahmin cook who caters to all vegetarians. He is dexterous in cutting, steaming and decorating food in pure south Indian style. This character design is based on several persons I have met during my travels. I painted it using Mypaint. Comments are welcome.

Raptor

Dinosaurs have always fascinated me. They are extinct and nobody knows what they looked like. Therefore we have the artistic freedom of designing from the scratch. Scientific materials and speculations are a good start for the research. I chose the Velociraptor and of course, the best possible reference for the Velociraptors have been the Jurassic Park film series. A less focused Velociraptor appears in Peter Jackson's "King Kong". This is my version of the Velociraptor. The base mesh was modeled in Maya, details were sculpted in Zbrush, textures were hand painted in Photoshop and rendered using Marmoset Toolbag. Kingini

"Kingini" is a fifteen minutes sketch inspired by my colleague's daughter. I have met her only a couple of times. She is a jovial poetry in motion. Through this sketch I have attempted to capture the cuteness and delight of the child posing for the camera. Comments are welcome. Kingini
